NC Steering Committee Minutes

NSC and CRO will attend next months meeting.
Amended Agenda to include discussion of Police Chief event
- Jamil will respond to ACW’s invite to event, group came up with the follow q’s:
- What time is the event?
- What support is needed from the NC?
- What is the format?
SC discussed and voted on members changing roles:
- Alanya, co chair
- Jackie, treasurer
- Shikira, secretary (Monica as backup)
- Ben, new member
General Meetings
- SC to look at speakers we want to line up for the year, discuss and make contact with speakers
- Invite speakers early and gives us ability to alert community to ‘save the date.’
- Jamil suggested that perhaps our General Meetings are our priority topics.
Priorities:
- With Jackie gone, we postponed a discussion until Jamil sends a Doodle for a conference call on either Monday 3/27, 28 or 29.
- We did discuss the role of the NC for neighbors who have had a crime happen to them.
- We can offer city resources if that is what neighbors are looking for (OPD, HOT team, Mental Health teams etc.)
- With this, we can also offer our developing response that speaks to crime as a public health issue and what does it mean to respond from this place as well?
